I hate to get political, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I am not telling, and will not tell you what to think. As an American, I believe we all have the right to freedom of both thought and speech. You must make up your own mind where you personally stand, and then choose what you will - or won't - do. I encourage all to do what they feel right.

The following was written by a friend of mine, ya know I've seen alot of B.S. gettin' flung around the internet lately , but this is the first thing I've seen like this. I'm pretty sure he'd do better at the helm than the self-elected "president of Florida". Damn. Now I did it.... Anyways, with no further adieu......, Go get 'em, Mikey!!

Subj: Fwd: A new plan for our country? My Plan ....

I've gotten this email several times and find it disturbing that Americans would think like this. I will include links so that you can find out things for yourselves. My solutions are at the bottom. This is my response:

You know, I'm getting really tired of all these overly simplistic, Rush Limbaughesque "solutions" to the current situation in the mideast and our economy. There are rarely quick and easy solutions to complex problems, and the problems that our country faces now have been a long time in the making. They will not go away overnight, and if "We the people" don't act they will get worse, much worse. Our "government" is not in a position to solve them. In fact, it is a large part of the problem.

The fact is that, this country has been swaggering around the globe, pushing everybody around "in the name of Democracy" for years and years. Well you know what? They're tired of it. So am I. We never would've gotten involved in WW2 if not for the attack on Pearl Harbor.

In fact, there were many people, Henry Ford and the grandfather of our fearless leader included who sympathized with an supported the Nazis even after our involvement in the war. http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/022703_fox.html

"the West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do."

I'm not saying that we deserved 9/11 but we've sure been asking for it for a long time. You may say "what about all that "humanitarian aid" we've been giving away for years ?". The fact is that we haven't really given anything away. It's been mostly in the form of loans, and when they can't make payments, political favors will do. Fact is we've never given loans or aid to any country we didn't think we could make a buck off of. Look at East Timor, (a small island nation in the Pacific) we stood by while their government slaughtered a quarter of a million of their own people in the streets. Our beloved government knew what was going on, (they even helped establish the regime and provided it with weapons) and never lifted a finger, but then they didn't have anything we needed, like oil. The slaughter still continues to this day. If you look around you will be able to find many more examples of this behavior. Humanitarian aid my big fat American ass!

As far as sending all the illegal aliens home, first you have to find them. There are an estimated half million illegal aliens (mostly Hispanic, but many Asians, and Arabs) in Connecticut and Rhode Island alone. That's not counting New York City or the rest of the country. What are you going to do? Check everybody's ID? Have spot checks on the street? Might as well live in Nazi Germany! Most of the illegal aliens have fake ID's anyway.

How are you going to get them home? That's a lot of plane fares! You do the math. Maybe internment camps....

The fact is that many of them have jobs that us natural citizens aren't willing to do like work on the farms. I'm assuming that you had either or both eggs and milk this morning for breakfast and maybe some lettuce on your roast beef sandwich at lunch. Well you have some poor Mexican guy working his wet backside off to thank because if that work was done by an American you wouldn't have been able to afford to buy that food at the supermarket!

The reason for this war in Iraq is quite simple. You know it and I know it. Oil. I have read that Iraq is in violation of 37 UN resolutions, well guess what people, Israel is in violation of 64!

What you may not know is that our beloved government has been lying to us about how much oil is really left in our planet. The US reached peak oil production in '77 or '78. What that means is that the amount of oil we can produce has been declining since then. In a 5 or 6 years the cost of extracting US oil will exceed it's market value. That means US produced oil is all done. Oil in the Middle East has not yet reached peak production. By all estimates it should peak in 2 or 3 years. Beyond that point, oil production in the Middle East will begin to decline. From everything I've read estimates are that there's about 30 -40 years of oil left on the planet at the present rate of consumption. That doesn't take into account that the rate of oil consumption has been steadily rising. There's only a few years worth of oil in Alaska, less if we are without foreign oil. There are hard choices to be made.

How much time do we really have? How much will your SUV be worth then?

The US at this point is not in a position to become self sufficient energy- wise until alternate energy sources like hydrogen are developed which would take at least 10 years, and that's not counting development of an infrastructure. ( Maybe, just maybe the tree huggers are right.)

As for the US going into a period of isolationism,(after the Iraq business I think the rest of the world will isolate us) look at what happened to China and Russia when they isolated themselves from the rest of the world and look at them now. The people of China are better off now than they ever have been. Why? because they've opened up and are trading with the rest of the world. Simple economics, you can't have money coming in if nothing's going out. Russia's starting to turn around but they've still got a long road ahead. The reason the Berlin Wall came down had nothing to do with politics, it was economics. They had to do something or they would've starved.

The problem with our government is that it is controlled by corporate interests. It's pretty obvious if you look around a little. The corporations are so powerful that the government must do their bidding.

Bad things happen to legislators that rock the boat. Did you know that Democratic congressmen are 5 times more likely to die in plane crashes than Republicans?

The media is controlled by mega-corporations and they are not obligated in any way to tell you the truth. And they don't.

For those of you who need a simplistic view. Here is my plan for a better country.

1.Everybody kills their television and starts thinking for themselves, and spending real quality time with each other instead of having their brains sucked out through their eyeballs. Television is the number one cause of violence in this country, it's been proven time and time again in studies that violent TV shows make violent kids, of course you won't see that or anything else truthful on the tube.

2.We elect people who are going to look out for us, We the People. Good people who aren't at the beck and call of the corporations. People who aren't afraid to do the right thing. To paraphrase Mussolini,"Facisim is the corporatization of the state". What does that say about our country? (where you live)

3.Everybody plants a garden and raises a few chickens. You can't have a self sufficient country if its people are not. If that sounds hard think about living in a police state, which is where we are headed with all this homeland security crap. (at least you'll be "taken care of") You need a backup plan!

4. Everybody owns at least one gun. Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and usually because the saw it on TV first. What about all the drug dealers you say? If it wasn't for our leadership there probably wouldn't be so many. Read here: http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ciadrugs/index.html

Do you think the dealers would be so brazen if there was a remote possibility that the citizens of those neighborhoods could take them out?

Do you think 9/11 would've happened if there was a possibility that even a couple of people were packing on those flights?

We're guaranteed the right to bear arms by our Constitution, but our government in its infinite wisdom has decided that we need to be protected from ourselves to the point that we can't even protect ourselves. The first thing the Nazis did in Germany was confiscate the citizens arms. Think about it.

5. Buy locally from the local businesses in your area. Every dollar you spend at Wal-Mart or Stop & Shop goes straight into the pockets of their CEOs. That's money that is no longer in your area of the country, they're sucking you dry. Money you spend at a local business is spent by the owner of that business in your area making it economically stronger. You could use the argument that the big corporations provide jobs, but at what cost to the community? How much are you willing to pay for convenience? If there's a need for something, I'll bet there's a local businessman willing to fill it.

6. Buy a used car, not from a big dealership but from a local garage. I can almost guarantee you'll get better service and once again the money will stay in your area. SUVs are a ploy by the car companies to circumvent federal gas mileage regulations because they are classified as trucks and therefore exempt. Wouldn't a minivan or station wagon do just as well to get your kids back and forth to soccer practice?

7. If 1. and 2. fail then we are obligated to do what our forefathers did in 1776. It's not easy and it's not comfortable but it's the right thing to do. You can sit in your livingrooms in front of your television sets and pretend nothing is wrong.

Just remember, "the revolution will not be televised" .
